Fantastic text – brilliantly contemporary and controversial. Institutional bias also has great potential – but getting the question right is going to be a challenge. Work carefully on the working title on your proposal and we will discuss it further at our next tutorial.
Hypothesis: definitely one to look at carefully. Perhaps test your idea that institutional bias is still a major problem (or factor) in the contemporary media landscape.
Your research is certainly going to cover textual analysis of the programme and reading everything online that was published when it was first released. The challenge may be finding academic books/journals that we can apply – there will be loads out there but finding it and making sure it applies could be tricky.
If you want new media audience theories or books for your research plan look up Shirky and Jenkins.
Linked production – documentary-style short film exploring a fictional miscarriage of justice. Sounds fascinating but difficult! All good for now, one to discuss further in January (and let it tick away in the back of your mind between now and then).
Next steps: finish project proposal and start building a comprehensive research plan.

Finish project proposal with sorted hypothesis - start on notes and quotes using this and summer HW.
Put all articles together in appropriate groups.
Finalise - Hypotheses to make sure i know what I'm i'm doing.
Perhaps try to find academic work on the topic/ Books
