Ignite Presentations: Learner Response

2) Type up your feedback in full including the ratings out of five for each category. You then need to use this feedback to self-assess and write a detailed WWW and EBI for your own research and presentation as a whole.

o Great opening - introducing text and then linking to genre of documentary.
o Engaging topic.
o Points on Netflix + BBC are interesting but quite a jump from previous slide. Worth thinking about structure.
o Loses track a little (rehearsal?) but actually recovers well to make interesting points on representation + Institution.
o Good research - Largely web based (to be expected) nut all contribute to real authority on the topic.
o Point linking to soap opera brings things back to genre but could offer more detail here?
o Excellent reference to narrative structure - could have added theory here.
o Brings it round to wider social issues which is very good and will be important for critical investigation. In fact, I'd have liked to see more on effect theory and influence or audience views of the criminal justice system.
o Challenging first question but does address an important issue in terms of representation of those with learning difficulties...excellent discussion of audience sympathy.
o Brilliant questions/debates on ethical dilemma/failings of Netflix/responsibilities of the media.

3) The final aspect is a paragraph discussing how your presentation will lead into your critical investigation. Some of this may refer to your feedback (a greater focus on media debates, for example) or in rare cases you may want to change the focus of your investigation entirely.

o My Critical investigation will be on Institutional Bias/extreme ideology and the representations of groups including those with disabilities.
o I will most likely include more things on narrative and genre which will link to the institution aspect of the investigation. This will become the main focus of my investigation.
